The course has been created for equine veterinarians that would like to maximize the use of their ultrasound unit in these three key areas of equine practice. After attending this 2 hour course participants will:
1) Be able to identify and correct common mistakes with transducer manipulations and machine settings that impact musculoskeletal image quality
2) Recognize normal and abnormal ultrasonographic features of common musculoskeletal injuries involving the equine lower limb (metacarpus/metatarsus/pastern)

After attending this 2 hour session, participants will:
1) Be able to identify common ultrasonographic changes on common and uncommon colic cases including those of strangulating origin
2) Be able to identify common lung abnormalities of the adult horse (pleuropneumonia, pneumonia, hemothorax and pneumothorax) in addition to identifying various aspects of thoracic trauma
3) Be able to identify normal and abnormal abdominal and umbilical structures of the neonate foal including infections of the internal umbilical remnant and uroperitoneum.

After attending this 2 hour session, participants will:
1) Be able to identify the normal and abnormal patterns of uterine edema commonly used for mare breeding management.
2) Be able to identify common responses to the use of prostaglandin and ovulatory inducing agents for the induction of estrus and ovulation.
